Remembering Our Oceans Friends

I found this informative fun blog Malaria, Bedbugs, Sea Lice and Sunsets today while searching for cool fish pictures. Rick MacPherson's blog is full of interesting posts about our beautiful oceans that educate us on everything from the ironies between policy and responsible research practices to showing us the cool new pictures of the mural on the new NOAA Fisheries Pacific Grove Facility.(at top)

This particular shark picture is Rick MacPherson's avatar for his profile and is a good representation of his Passion for educating others of the happenings of our marine environments. Rick is a field-based marine conservation biologist and works in science education as a marine ecologist, coral reef conservationist, and science writer working to preserve ocean biodiversity while helping to build greater understanding and appreciation of our oceans". He seems to be head strong and purpose driven just like the shark.
The name of the blog came from his friends saying that his job took him "island hopping and was a series of rum drinks while enjoying sunsets in exotic, tropical locales." and he would reply "In addition to the malaria, bedbugs and sea lice". Check out Ricks blog as well as his website. You'll be glad you did~

Helping Animals through Art

The real Houdini

Houdini Three

This adorable mouse is from Art For Critters "Combining our passion for art with our love of Animals to generate funds for Animal charities". This little guy is the beautiful artwork of Melody Lamb . Melody has an incredible blog in itself where you can check out all her latest pieces of work.

This brings all my favorites together; Animals, Art and doing good, there's not much more that would make me happier. This blog is an awesome find, a pure delight. I found this blog by first checking out Artist Susi Galloways blog list, who is also a huge nature enthusiast.

Art For Critters has a wealth of opportunities for helping with animals in need by purchasing beautiful animal art by incredibly gifted artists. Not only are they gifted with their art talents but with the desire to help the animal kingdom in their own way.

"Art For Critters (A4C)was founded in 2006 by a group of artists from around the world who came together on the Internet with a shared desire to help animals in need through an ongoing commitment of donating a portion of their art sales to help animal charities." Where they believe every little bit helps.

This is must see blog for the animal lover. Check it out, You'll be glad you did.
